Azerbaijan to subsidize electricity grid connection fees for industrial and agricultural facilities

President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on subsidizing the fee for connecting industrial and agricultural construction facilities to the electricity grid, APA reports.

According to the decree, the "Rules for Subsidizing the Fee for Connecting Industrial and Agricultural Construction Facilities to the Electricity Grid" have been approved.

The decree stipulates that, in accordance with the Rules approved by Part 1 of this decree, a subsidy amounting to 50 percent of the fee determined by the Tariff (Price) Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the service of connecting industrial and agricultural construction facilities to the electricity grid will be paid from the state budget.

The subsidy envisaged in Clause 2.1 of this decree will apply to industrial and agricultural construction facilities connected to the electricity grid after the decree enters into force.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall ensure that the necessary funds for financing the subsidy envisaged in Clause 2.1 of this decree in 2027–2030 are included in the draft state budgets for those years and shall resolve other issues arising from this decree.

The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall organize the subsidization of the fee for the electricity grid connection service in accordance with the Rules approved by Part 1 of this decree and take the necessary measures to resolve other issues arising from this decree.

This decree enters into force on January 1, 2027, and remains valid until December 31, 2030.
