UNESCO Director-General gets familiarized with Gilan piano factory

Irina Bokova got familiarized with Gilan piano factory in Gabala. It was noted that Beltmann piano factory founded by Johann Beltmann in the Kingdom of Netherlands in 1901 was moved to Germany by his great grandson in 1983 and functioned till 2002.

The idea of establishing a new Beltmann piano factory appeared in February 2008 and the construction of the factory started in Gabala in October 2008. The production of Beltmann pianos was launched as three pianos were made in the factory in September 2009. Beltmann pianos are made only in Gilan factory in Gabala.

UNESCO Director-General watched the process of production in the factory. It was said that the factory meeting the international standards consists of administrative building and sphere of production. The factory will produce 1200-1500 pianos a year. The factory has 120 employees. The number of the employees will reach 350 in future.

The factory has 150-man canteen, exhibition hall and a hostel.

UNESCO Director-General viewed the pianos produced in the factory.
