Kazakhstan is ready to make a significant contribution to the activities of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The organization plays an important role in ensuring security, strengthening confidence and jointly responding to modern challenges, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the plenary session of the 7th CICA Summit, APA reports.
Tokayev stated that the number of CICA member states is increasing and that 90 percent of the organization's members are Asian countries.
According to him, as complex challenges and serious problems emerge around the world, it is important to act jointly to address these difficulties.
Tokayev stated that Azerbaijan is doing extensive work to transform CICA into an important organization in the world. He emphasized the importance of ensuring CICA's openness in the roadmap and increasing efforts to create a more modern security framework.
The President of Kazakhstan noted that important steps have been taken to resolve conflicts and address other issues, highlighting the importance of establishing close cooperation between the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and CICA.
He proposed using diplomacy to implement preventive measures.
According to Tokayev, CICA was established for the future and must be ready to use all its capabilities to achieve significant positive changes.
He also noted the importance of working towards more flexible and faster decision-making in the era of artificial intelligence development. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of preventing the weakening of human capabilities amid the development of artificial intelligence.
The President of Kazakhstan stated that CICA should keep artificial intelligence issues in focus and stressed the importance of establishing an appropriate mechanism in this field. He said Kazakhstan is ready to establish a center in Almaty for this purpose.
Tokayev also stated that the project to lay the Trans-Caspian fiber-optic cable along the seabed of the Caspian Sea would contribute to the development of a digital cooperation mechanism.
Finally, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized that his country attaches great importance to the development of joint transport corridors.
