Strengthening coordination between the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), the Organization of Turkic States, the Economic Cooperation Organization, ASEAN and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will undoubtedly enhance connectivity across the continent, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said during his speech at the 7th CICA Summit, APA reports.
He stated that connectivity also encompasses the digital world: "We must deepen cooperation in science, technology and innovation within CICA so that artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies serve the well-being of people not only in Asia but throughout the world. Artificial intelligence should not be a tool of confrontation or monopolization, but a foundation for inclusive cooperation. Strengthening connectivity will support sustainable development in Asia. Sustainable development also requires taking measures to address the challenges posed by climate change. Türkiye continues to play a leading role in combating the impacts of climate change. This November, we will host and preside over the 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31). In this regard, we want COP31 to become an opportunity to strengthen climate justice, sustainable development and human-centered transformation. We call on all relevant stakeholders to be represented at a high level at the upcoming Leaders' Summit."
