Tajikistan has thanked Azerbaijan for the high-level organization of the CICA Summit and its warm hospitality, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon said during his speech at the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), APA reports.
He noted that today's meeting is taking place amid a complex and sensitive international situation, in which geopolitical competition, emerging conflicts and security threats are seriously affecting the stability of international relations: "Under these circumstances, a solid foundation for ensuring long-term peace and stability can only be established on the basis of respect for sovereignty, trust and mutual understanding, the supremacy of the principles of international law, and the peaceful resolution of disputes and disagreements. Tajikistan is a consistent supporter of strengthening the multipolar system of international relations and developing constructive cooperation between states. We are confident that the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia can play an even more effective role as a platform for dialogue among the countries of the continent."
