"CICA is now stronger institutionally and legally," President Ilham Aliyev said during his speech at the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), APA reports.
The head of state thanked all member states for supporting the extension of Azerbaijan's CICA chairmanship for another two years: "During its two-year chairmanship of CICA, Azerbaijan has given priority attention to strengthening the organization and actively promoted cooperation in transport, connectivity, digitalization, environmental protection, tourism, education, science and other fields.
As a result of our various initiatives implemented with the unanimous support of all member states, CICA is now stronger institutionally and legally. Its membership has expanded, and its capabilities to develop dialogue and interaction in order to promote security, economic prosperity and mutual understanding across its geographical area have been significantly strengthened.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank all member states for supporting the proposal to extend Azerbaijan's CICA chairmanship for another two years."
