In July this year, the average price of natural gas in Europe stood at $18.06 per million BTU (British thermal unit), which is 19.1% higher than the previous month's figure of $15.17, APA-Economics reports, citing the World Bank's monthly commodity markets report.
The average price of natural gas in Europe reached $15.58 in the second quarter of this year, which is 31.3% higher than the corresponding period last year ($11.87).
The Bank recalled that the average price of natural gas in Europe stood at $11.96 in 2025, which is 9.1% higher than the 2024 figure of $10.96.
Note that the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) began on December 31, 2020.
According to the report, the average price of natural gas in the United States stood at $2.89 per million BTU in July this year, which is 8.3% lower than the previous month's figure of $3.15.
The report states that the average price of natural gas in the United States reached $2.95 in the second quarter of this year, which is 7.2% lower than the corresponding period last year ($3.18).
It is noted that the average price of natural gas in the United States stood at $3.53 in 2025, which is 61.2% higher than the previous year's figure of $2.19.
