BP's direct expenditure on local workforce (services) and materials under contracts signed with local companies and foreign contractors operating in the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Türkiye (AGT) region amounted to $1.0045 billion in the first half of this year, representing a 30% increase year-on-year, APA-Economics reports, citing BP's report on its operations in Azerbaijan for the first half of this year.
According to the report, BP spent $421.7 million through joint ventures with its local partners (covering 17 enterprises) during the reporting period.
The report also states that BP spent $251.4 million on the in-country expenditures of foreign contractors (covering 67 companies) during the reporting period. In addition, BP's expenditures amounted to $297.2 million across 248 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and $34.2 million across 30 state-owned companies during the same period.
