African Union condemns terrorist attack in Kenya

Baku-APA. The African Union (AU) on Tuesday condemned the previous day’s terrorist attack in Kenya, APA reports quoting Xinhua News Agency.

In a statement sent to Xinhua, Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU) Jean Ping said the AU learnt with shock and sadness that innocent civilians were killed and wounded in a bomb blast at a Nairobi bus station on Monday.

The AU condemned in the strongest terms this cowardly terrorist attack, which cannot be justified under any circumstances, the statement said.

The chairperson of the AU Commission extends his condolences to the families of the victims and prays for the speedy recovery of those wounded during the attack.

He reaffirmed the determination of the African bloc to combat terrorism and to continue to support the AU peacekeeping mission in Somalia.
