Eleven civilians have been killed in an armed attack by rebels in Ituri province in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, APA reports.
Most of those killed were reportedly women.
According to the report, rebels from the CODECO group attacked civilians in a village in Ituri’s Djugu territory, forcing many residents to flee their homes.
Following the attack, around 100 civilians sought shelter near a base of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).
