Gayibov commented on the issue of inaccurate assessment of Azerbaijani athletes’ performance, saying referees are appointed by the technical committee which is subject to the European Union of Gymnastics.
“The federation’s vice-president, Altay Hasanov, has stated his position regarding this matter. I can’t comment on this because I’m the vice-president of the European Union of Gymnastics. The Union’s Executive Committee will hold a meeting to discuss the European Games’ possible contributions to gymnastics, positive and negative sides, etc. And I will state the position of our federation and propose to make sure such cases do not happen in future,” said Gayibov.
