Rubio: US-Danish agreement transforms Arctic security

08 October 2026 00:20 (UTC +04:00)

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio believes that Washington's agreements with the Danish and Greenlandic authorities will transform the security situation in the Arctic, APA reports.

"We aspire to an alliance whose strength is greater than the sum of its parts. This aspiration was made reality last month in the unprecedented new agreement between the United States, Denmark, and Greenland. This agreement will transform the Arctic and strengthen the security of all of NATO," he said in his keynote speech in Athens.

"All three partners in this deal emerged victorious. Thanks to it, all of Europe, NATO, and the United States have become stronger and more secure," the Secretary of State believes.
