The Games started off with the competition of synchronized swimmers. The swimmers performed simple techniques at the qualifying round held at the Baku Aquatics Center. The athletes from 20 countries were involved in the competition.
Russian synchronized swimmers - Valeria Filenkova and Daria Kulagina were in the lead, scoring 89.2333 points together. Ukrainian athletes (87.5333 points) ranked second, while Spanish athletes (85.7333 points) ranked third.
Azerbaijani synchronized swimmers - Tatyana Nikitina and Yekaterina Valiulina ranked 18th, scoring 71.4333 points together.
Note that, the final round will be held on June 15.
