Azad Rahimov: Azerbaijani team is enjoying victory

APA reports that Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov made the remarks. “Azerbaijan is in the 2nd place in the ratings over 12 days. We are pleased of this place. We won a gold medal, 2 silver medals and 3 bronze medals yesterday. The victory of Bunyatovas sisters in sabre delighted us. Another encouraging point is interest of the audience. 70-80 percent of seats are occupied in sport venues. The spectators are buying tickets to watch the competitions. New sports culture is being formed. Volunteers are also working at the high level. It is also a new form of culture. One of the goals was promotion of Azerbaijan. It is mainly done through broadcasting. The games are being broadcasted by 61 channels in 145 countries. 824 million flats are watching them. The opening ceremony was broadcasted live in 120 countries. Broadcast times are like the times of Sochi Olympic Games. 194 of 253 medal sets were won. Athletes will compete for 59 sets of medals in two days. The junior world record was broken in swimming yesterday. It shows the high level of athletes in this sphere as well.”
