Baku. Agshin Aliyev - APA-Sport. Azerbaijan Youth and Sport Ministry held the next board meeting. Spokesperson for the ministry Samaya Mammadova told APA-Sport that honorary titles were conferred on the sportsmen, who had won medals in the 29th Beijing Summer Olympic Games. According to the Unique Sport Classification for 2005-2008, Youth and Sport Ministry’s sport department conferred the title of “Honorable sportsman of Azerbaijan Republic” on seven sportsmen.

The title of “Honorable sportsman of Azerbaijan Republic” has been conferred on judoist Elnur Mammadli, 20, (gold medalist of Beijing Olympic Games, silver medalist of the world championship, European champion), Greco-Roman wrestler Rovshan Bayramov, 21, (silver medalist of Beijing Olympic Games and world championship, twofold European champion), Greco-Roman wrestler Vitali Rahimov, 24, (silver medalist of Beijing Olympic Games, European champion), boxer Shahin Imranov, 28, (bronze medalist of Beijing Olympic Games, silver medalist of European championship), Movlud Miraliyav, 34, (bronze medalist of Beijing Olympic Games and world championship), freestyle wrestler Khetag Gazyumov, 25, (bronze medalist of Beijing and European championship) and wrestler Mariya Stadnik, 20, (bronze medalist of Beijing Olympic Games, European champion).
