Azerbaijani boxer Elvin Mamishzadeh eliminated from London Olympics

Baku – APA-Sport. Member of Azerbaijani national boxing team Elvin Mamishzadeh was eliminated from the Olympic Games in London. 20-year-old boxer joined the tournament (52 kg) in 1/16 final and was defeated by Mongolian boxer Tugstsogt Nyambayar, who was defeated by Elvin in the world championship in Baku.
Mamishzadeh was leading 5:4 in the first round, but couldn’t prevent his rival’s attack in the next round. Starting the third round with 8:11 defeat, Elvin lost 11:18 and left Olympics. Vatan Huseynli (81 kg) will meet with Ecuadorian Carlos Mercado today at 21.45 (01.45 by Baku time). Soltan Migtinov (75 kg) won his first fight.
