Azerbaijani boxer Elvin Mamishzadeh eliminated from London Olympics

Baku â€“ APA-Sport. Member of Azerbaijani national boxing team Elvin Mamishzadeh was eliminated from the Olympic Games in London. 20-year-old boxer joined the tournament (52 kg) in 1/16 final and was defeated by Mongolian boxer Tugstsogt Nyambayar, who was defeated by Elvin in the world championship in Baku.

Mamishzadeh was leading 5:4 in the first round, but couldnâ€™t prevent his rivalâ€™s attack in the next round. Starting the third round with 8:11 defeat, Elvin lost 11:18 and left Olympics. Vatan Huseynli (81 kg) will meet with Ecuadorian Carlos Mercado today at 21.45 (01.45 by Baku time). Soltan Migtinov (75 kg) won his first fight.

Seven male and one female Azerbaijani boxers are participating in the Olympics.
