Azerbaijani President inaugurates Olympic Sports Center in Sumgayit

APA reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the opening ceremony. The Head of State cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the complex.

Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov informed the president and his spouse about the Sumgayit Olympic Sports Complex. The construction work started in 2007 covered totally 13,477-sq m area.

At first the Head of State and his spouse became familiar with the complex.

Then they learned the conditions established in the 3-storey hotel constructed in Sumgayit Olympic Sports Complex.

Then President Aliyev became familiar with a football field with artificial lawn.

After inspecting the complex, Azerbaijani President met here with the representatives of public community and sportsmen.

The Head of State presented the certificates of honor, the certificates of high honorable titles and orders of apartments to a group of persons for their services in the development of Olympic movement in the country, as well as for their achievements in various tournaments.
