24th Olympic center opened in Azerbaijan

Baku – APA. 24th Olympic Center was opened in Azerbaijan. It was opened in Shagan village of Baku on December 25. President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony, APA reports.

The head of state cut a ribbon symbolizing the official opening and then became familiarized with the newly-constructed Olympic Center.

There are universal sport, wrestling and body-building rooms, room of referees, locker room and other services in the complex. The head of state visited the 650-seat universal sport room, which will host football, handball, volleyball and basketball competitions.

The president also looked at the room assigned for wrestling, boxing and other fighting sports, which is able to host 615 viewers. President Aliyev visited the body-building room as well. He was informed that the complex is able to host international competitions on mini football, basketball, volleyball, as well as gymnastics, boxing, wrestling and etc.

Then the President visited the canteen, conference-hall, medical room, basin and hotel built in the territory of sport complex.

The president also looked at the sport equipments in the open air, as well as courts for tennis, mini football and volleyball.

The president also visited the 1032-seat artificially-covered stadium.
