The Trump Route (TRIPP) is an important element of the peace agreement to be signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and it particularly serves to unite Azerbaijani regions that have long been separated by distance, said Kenneth Angell, the Managing Director of the U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC), in response to APA’s question during a briefing on the results of the visit of the representatives of the U.S. Certified Trade Mission on the Middle Corridor to Azerbaijan.

According to him, establishing the connecting route, which will be approximately 42 kilometers long, will not only unite those territories but also open new opportunities for the Middle Corridor: “The main goal of the Middle Corridor is to ensure faster and more efficient transportation of goods between East and West – from Europe to China and vice versa. It should be noted that this is not a zero-sum process. Via the Middle Corridor route, which goes from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan and then to Georgia, reaching Black Sea ports, and the alternative route passing from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan and then through Türkiye complement each other. There is sufficient trade volume for both routes. In fact, the TRIPP connection will simply serve as an additional and strategic transport corridor for the movement of goods across Eurasia.”
