In August 2025, Haydar Aliyev International Airport achieved a record by serving nearly 840,000 passengers, the airport told APA-Economics.
This figure is the highest result recorded in August of all years. A total of 8,238 flights were operated during this period.
The most preferred destinations for passengers to travel in the summer season were Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Dubai, and Tbilisi.
Among the 38 international airlines serving these destinations, Turkish Airlines, AJet, Fly Dubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air stood out with their high passenger flow.
An increase was also observed in the number of transit passengers. Thus, in August of this year, 42,053 passengers transited through Haydar Aliyev International Airport, which is 12.1% more than in the same period last year.
The number of passengers transported by the national air carrier AZAL on the Baku-Nakhchivan-Baku route increased by 2% compared to August of last year and reached 79,120 people. The number of flights operated in this direction increased to 372 during the month.
It was noted that Haydar Aliyev International Airport continues its activities in the direction of high-quality of services provided to passengers and flight safety. At the same time, it strengthens Azerbaijan as one of the important transit centers on the international air transport map.
