Azerbaijan plans to complete the construction of 4 reservoirs by 2025–2027, 9 reservoirs by 2027–2030, and 13 reservoirs by 2030–2040, APA-Economics reports.
The announcement was made during the Baku Water Week conference.
According to information, Azerbaijan currently has 149 reservoirs with a combined water storage capacity of 23,577 million cubic meters.
The country’s main water supply network spans a total of 32,023.7 kilometers. Azerbaijan has 47 main canals with a combined length of 2,256 kilometers and a total water discharge capacity of 1,321 cubic meters per hour.
