CATEL makes available service in three more areas in Azerbaijan

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s CDMA operator CATEL has made available its services in Guba, Gusar and Khachmaz.
The company said at present the coverage area includes Baku, Absheron, Sumgait, Sangachal, Alat, Kurdemir, Ujar, Shirvan, Gandja, Mingechevir, Goychay, Shamkir, Aghstafa, Khudat, Balakan, Devechi, Nabran, Lenkeran and Astara.
The company intends to make its services available across the country, by reaching Tovuz, Gazakh, Aghsu, Masalli, Sheki, Berde and Nakhchivan.
The company’s current CDMA number capacity is 50,000 but it is slated to double the capacity in the future.
Caspian American Telecommunications, LLC (CATEL) was established in 1997 by Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry and a United States consortium Omni-Metromedia Caspian Ltd. (OMCL). The company was privatized in early 2008.
