As of December 31, 2025, 70.4% of the investment portfolio of the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) was in US dollars, which is an increase of 3.9 percentage points compared to the indicator at the beginning of the year (66.5% as of December 31, 2024), APA-Economics reports, citing SOFAZ’s annual report for last year.
As of December 31, 2025, the euro accounted for 17.5% of the Fund’s investment portfolio, the British pound for 4.9%, the Chinese yuan for 2.2%, the Japanese yen for 1.3%, and other currencies for 3.7%.
Note that during the reporting period, SOFAZ’s total investment portfolio reached $73,539.7 million, representing a 22.5% increase compared to the beginning of the year.
The Fund’s investment portfolio is distributed among currencies as follows:
-US dollar: $51,772.4 mln
- Euro: €10,926.5 mln
- British pound sterling: £2,659.3 mln
- Chinese yuan: CNY 11,447.5 mln
- Japanese yen: JPY 150,938.9 mln
- Other currencies: $2,703 mln
According to the report, gold investments accounted for $28,063.2 million (38.2%) of SOFAZ’s US dollar portfolio.
