Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia exceeds $4.9 billion

"Last year, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia exceeded 4.9 billion US dollars," said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, during his speech at the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia held in Zangilan, APA reports.

“The implementation of the Roadmap on the development of key areas of cooperation for 2024–2026 is progressing successfully,” he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is one of the main areas of bilateral relations, and Russia holds an important place in Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover as one of its key trading partners.

Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that, according to the results of 2025, trade turnover between the two countries exceeded 4.9 billion US dollars, showing steady growth compared to the previous year. In the first three months of the current year, the volume of mutual trade amounted to approximately 750 million dollars.

He added that mutual trade in agricultural products occupies a significant share of the overall turnover.

According to him, the Russian market remains a key destination for Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports.

Shahin Mustafayev also noted that, based on the results of 2025, exports of agricultural products from Azerbaijan to Russia exceeded 837 million dollars, while fruit and vegetable supplies increased by about 31 percent, reaching 696 million dollars. At the same time, imports of agricultural products from Russia to Azerbaijan exceeded 832 million dollars.
