A presentation of the preliminary draft of the Strategic Plan of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030 has been held, APA-Economics reports.
The event was attended by the Chairman and members of the Board of the Chamber of Accounts, members of the Milli Majlis, experts, heads of structural divisions, and staff.
First, the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts, Vugar Gulmammadov, spoke about the importance of the strategic plan and addressed the goals set to provide an adequate response to the reforms carried out in the field of public financial management and the challenges arising from them.
Later, the Head of the Apparatus of the Chamber of Accounts and employees of the structural divisions provided detailed information on the process of preparing the strategic plan, the tools used in assessing the current situation and their results, strategic objectives, final and interim outcomes, the monitoring system, as well as the resource and risk assessment of the plan.
It was noted that the new plan, serving as a roadmap for activities over the next five-year period, aims to enhance the role of high-quality public audit in public financial management. The main focus will be directed toward the full establishment of the State Audit Information System, including the creation of integration with the information systems of other state bodies, the application of artificial intelligence in possible areas and the expanded use of data analytics tools, the continuation of high-quality public audit practices, the audit of consolidated financial statements, the audit of SOEs, the wider application of international standards, strengthening public financial management based on our recommendations, supporting global initiatives, and further enhancing the professional image within the community of international supreme audit institutions, and other priorities.
Within the framework of the presentation, guests voiced a number of proposals on various issues.
