The international rating agency Moody’s has updated its assessment of Azerbaijan’s government credit profile, APA-Economics reports.

The agency rates the country’s sovereign credit rating at Baa3 with a “positive” outlook.

According to Moody’s assessment, Azerbaijan’s credit profile is supported by a large net creditor position. This position provides a significant financial buffer for the government, strengthens the state’s liquidity capacity, and reduces external vulnerability risks.

It was also noted that continued tension in regional relations is considered one of the main factors contributing to ongoing geopolitical risks.

Note that this statement does not constitute an official credit rating but reflects Moody’s planned analytical opinion.
