Georgia's trade turnover with Azerbaijan rises by more than 10%

Georgia's trade turnover with Azerbaijan totaled USD 691.2 million in the first half of this year, up 10.6% compared to the same period last year, the preliminary report of the National Statistics Office of Georgia said, APA's local bureau reports.

In January-June, Azerbaijan ranked as Georgia's fifth-largest trading partner after Türkiye, Russia, China and the United States, accounting for 5.3% of the country's total trade turnover.

Georgia exported goods worth USD 335.8 million to Azerbaijan, down 1.8% year-on-year. Azerbaijan ranked as Georgia's third-largest export destination after Kyrgyzstan and China, accounting for 8.7% of the country's total exports.

The value of goods imported by Georgia from Azerbaijan increased by 25% year-on-year to USD 355.2 million. Azerbaijan ranked as Georgia's sixth-largest import partner after Türkiye, Russia, China, the United States and Germany, accounting for 3.9% of the country's total imports.

During the reporting period, Georgia's total foreign trade turnover amounted to USD 12.9 billion. Exports accounted for USD 3.87 billion of the total trade turnover, while imports totaled USD 9.05 billion.
