In the third quarter of 2025, foreign direct investment (FDI) in Azerbaijan reached USD 4.7 billion, APA-Economics reports.
This was announced at a press conference held by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan on the results of the balance of payments for 9 months.
It was noted that during the reporting period, the largest share of foreign direct investment attracted to the country came from the United Kingdom, with investments totaling USD 1.243 billion. Foreign direct investment in the amount of 912 million US dollars was attracted from Türkiye, 543 million US dollars from Cyprus, 284 million US dollars from Switzerland, as well as 272 million US dollars from Iran.
It was also reported that during the reporting period, the volume of foreign direct investments (FDI) sent from Azerbaijan abroad amounted to USD 2.038 billion. For comparison, in the first half of 2024, this figure was USD 1.3498 billion.
According to the information, the main destination of foreign direct investments from Azerbaijan was Israel, with investments totaling USD 542.6 million, mainly related to the “Tamar” gas field project. Türkiye received USD 289 million, the United Arab Emirates USD 250 million, the United Kingdom USD 176 million, and Italy USD 118 million in foreign direct investments.
