Azerbaijan’s strategic foreign currency reserves increased by USD 12.6 billion, or 17.7%, over the 11 months of the current year, reaching USD 83.6 billion, APA-Economics reports.
This was stated in the Central Bank of Azerbaijan’s statement on the main directions of monetary policy for 2026.
The statement notes that during this period, the Central Bank’s foreign currency reserves rose by 4.3% to USD 11.4 billion.
Recall that Azerbaijan’s strategic foreign currency reserves amount to 142 billion manats in manat terms, which exceeds the projected GDP for 2025 (130 billion manats).
Currently, our foreign currency reserves are 17 times higher than our external debt.
