The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) will put into circulation a newly designed 100-manat banknote featuring the latest security elements starting from July 15, 2026, APA-Economics reports, citing the CBA.

According to the information, the updated 100-manat banknote includes the latest security features such as a color-shifting hologram with a three-dimensional micro-mirror effect, the innovative “Spark Flow Prime” element (a dynamically light-emitting, color-changing manat symbol), a watermark (visible when held up to light, displaying the State Emblem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the denomination numeral), a tactile feature for the visually impaired (special raised lines on the right and left edges of the front side allowing users to identify the authenticity and denomination by touch), a vertical design (in line with the latest global trends in banknote production, the reverse side is designed vertically), a security thread, intaglio printing, microtext, and other features.

The updated 100-manat banknote bears the signature of the Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Taleh Tahir oghlu Kazimov, which is placed in the upper left corner on the front side.

Adaptation processes have already begun to ensure that all cash handling systems and equipment currently used in the country are compatible with the updated 100-manat banknote.

It is noted that the updated 100-manat banknote will circulate in parallel with the existing banknote of the same denomination currently in use and will be accepted as a legal means of payment without any restrictions.

Images of the front and reverse sides are attached.
