The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is considering the possibility of allocating a loan for a regional project to modernize border crossing points in a number of countries, including Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports.
The project titled “Modernization of Border Points for Integration, Logistics and Development” covers Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, China, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
It is noted that Azerbaijan’s experience in digitalizing customs procedures and improving border infrastructure is regarded as a model within the framework of the project.
Note that the total cost of the project amounts to 50 million US dollars, and the financing is planned to be carried out from ADB’s capital resources. The project concept is expected to be approved in November 2027, while the loan is planned to be approved in 2028.
