In April this year, the average spot price of natural gas in Europe based on the TTF (the Netherlands' Title Transfer Facility, Europe's most liquid virtual trading hub) index stood at $15.57 per million BTU (British thermal unit), stated in a report by the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), APA-Economics reports.
Accordingly, the average gas price at the TTF hub decreased by 13% month-on-month, while increasing by 35% year-on-year in April.
The report states that the average spot price of gas at the NBP gas trading hub (the United Kingdom’s main virtual gas trading point and one of the most influential centers for Europe’s natural gas spot market) amounted to $15.15 in April, representing a 14% decrease compared to the previous month and a 35% increase compared to the same period last year.
It should be recalled that transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) began on December 31, 2020.
