Armenia does not rule out possibility of purchasing gas from Azerbaijan

Armenia may seek alternative gas sources if problems arise with Russian gas supplies or if prices increase, Armenia Today reports, citing Mesrop Mesropyan, Chairman of Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission.

“If such a situation arises, naturally, other markets and resources will be sought. Alternatives exist in neighboring countries — Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and all states that sell gas and have the infrastructure enabling its supply,” the head of the commission said during a briefing.

According to him, Armenia has not yet received any official notification regarding an increase in the price of Russian gas.
