Official opening of Rock, Paper, Scissors, the exhibition of works from the rich and versatile British Council collection at the Academy of Fine Art’s took place on February 22 at the Academy of Fine Arts of Azerbaijan, APA reports. Pro-rector of the Academy Salham Mammadov welcomed the guests and said the exhibition was presented by the British Council, in partnership with the Academy of Fine Arts and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan. This is an exhibition of prints by sculptors in the British Council Collection, from the 1950s to the present day. Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Sevda Mammadaliyeva, British ambassador to Azerbaijan Caroline Brown, Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts of Azerbaijan Omar Eldarov and Secretary of the Azerbaijan Union of Artists Aghali Ibrahimov spoke about the relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom and expressed satisfaction with mutual cooperation. British Council Director on South Caucasus Paul Doubleday said Rock, Paper, Scissors aims to examine how artists have developed the interaction between the two and three-dimensional, as well as the possibilities offered by printed materials. The exhibition will last until February 28.
