Azerbaijan President inspects construction works of monument to folk hero â€œKorogluâ€

Baku. Ziya Agazade â€“ APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva viewed today construction works of the monument to be erected to the folk hero â€œKorogluâ€ in the park located at the crossroad of Azadlig and Vagif avenues.

According to APA quoting â€œAzertagâ€, President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse get familiarized with course of works, visiting the park and workshop where the monument to folk hero will be worked out.

The author of the monument Tokay Mammedov informed the President that to be erected monument to the folk hero â€œKorogluâ€ would bare the feelings of loyalty to the motherland, as well as heroic and braveness features. It was also noted that to be erected monument of â€œKorogluâ€ will be a symbol of braveness and play a significant role in fostering patriotism through young generation.

Note that, on December 3, 2009, President Ilham Aliyev signed the decree on erection of monument to folk hero â€œKorogluâ€ in Baku city. Baku City Executive Office has determined the park at the crossroad of Azadlig and Vagif avenues of Nasimi district to be the best place for the monument.
