Official closing ceremony of â€œBaku-Capital of Islamic Culture-2009â€ takes place - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

APA reports that Head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, deputies and representatives of diplomatic corps attended the event.

Delivering a keynote speech at the ceremony, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev noted that nearly 500 different cultural events had been held within the framework of the culture year: â€œI think the most important event was the International Mugham Festival. This event became possible as a result of increasing reputation of Azerbaijan on a world scale thanks to President Ilham Aliyev and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyevaâ€™s strong relations with ISESCO. Iâ€™m so grateful to Baku City for welcoming this event on a high levelâ€.

Deputy Secretary General of ISESCO Hadi Azizzadeh expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for the high-level organization of this responsible work. He noted that Baku and whole Azerbaijan were worthy to name of the Capital of Islamic Culture.

Concert program started after the official ceremony.
