Baku to host II International Nasimi Scientific Conference

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. II International Nasimi Scientific Conference dedicated to the outstanding Azerbaijani poet and thinker Imadaddin Nasimi will take place in Baku on December 14-16. The conference will be organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences within the year of Baku â€“ Islamic Culture Capital 2009. Assistant of Aleppo Governor for cultural affairs Mohammad Gacca, mufti of Aleppo Mahmoud Okkem, researchers of Nasimi creative work Isam Gasabchi and Mohammad Kemal, as well as Iranian professor Javad Heyat will attend the conference.

Azerbaijani scientists will address the conference. They are also planning to discuss the issues of cooperation toward the reconstruction and restoration of Nasimiâ€™s tomb in Aleppo. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism prepared proposals for restoration and reconstruction of Nasimiâ€™s tomb in Aleppo and establishing the Azerbaijani Cultural Center there. First scientific conference dedicated to the poetâ€™s creative work was held in Aleppo, where Nasimi was buried, and preliminary agreement was reached with Aleppo authorities to organize cooperation of Azerbaijani and Syrian experts on restoration work, taken into consideration the architectural style of Aleppo, some reconstruction work including Azerbaijani architectural elements in the complexâ€™s indoor scene.

According to the special order by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, series events and work done for reconstruction of Nasimiâ€™s tomb on the eve of his 640 years anniversary were organized.
