"These days, we have completed our research on 600 cemeteries belonging to about 300 settlements in the territory of Western Azerbaijan, which we had to leave during the last deportation. More than 450 of these cemeteries have been completely erased from the surface of the earth," Aziz Alakbarli, a member of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), chairman of the Western Azerbaijan Community, said at today's session of the Milli Majlis, APA reports.
The MP noted that the destroyed remains of about 150 of these cemeteries are being observed: “Out of 600 cemeteries, only two—Garanamaz cemetery in Amasiya district and Jujakand cemetery in Kalinino district—are still intact and that's it! Just imagine, only 2 out of 600! Currently, work is underway at 3 cemeteries: in Shidli of Vedi district, in the cemeteries of Sarvanlar and Ranjbar villages of Zangibasar district, where sand and soil are being used to erase their traces. In 4 villages of the Basarkecher region - Sariyagub, Dashkent, Yukhari Shorja, and Janahmed villages, large military fortifications for tanks have been built in the cemetery areas. The fortifications in Yukhari Shorja and Janahmed villages are brand new—built-in early 2024. The same situation exists in the Zod and Inakdaghi villages of Basarkecher. We have prepared these reports based on satellite images and other irrefutable evidence from the countries that patronize Armenians, regarding each of these 600 cemeteries, both from before and after 1988. All of this constitutes acts of vandalism unparalleled in human history, and not only Armenia is guilty but also the countries that have driven it to commit these crimes, refusing to abandon their anti-Azerbaijan-phobic policies.”
