Digital economy currently accounts for 17.3% of global GDP, Nasir Sadigov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts, said during the session titled “Digital Public Audit for Sustainable Regional Integration,” organized within the framework of the Islamic Development Bank Annual Meetings in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, global technology spending reached $5.2 trillion in 2025.
“This figure is equivalent to approximately 4.4% of global GDP and exceeds the previous forecast of $4.9 trillion.”
The deputy chairman emphasized that the development of artificial intelligence, big data analytics and cloud technologies has enabled public institutions to operate in a more agile and results-oriented manner.
