A regular meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the centralized resolution of issues in the liberated territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on June 17 in the city of Aghdara under the chairmanship of Samir Nuriyev, Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Coordination Headquarters, APA reports.

Speaking at the meeting, Samir Nuriyev stated that the policy implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev forms the basis of the country's comprehensive development. He emphasized that strategic documents adopted in recent years, state programs and reforms carried out in various sectors, including agriculture, once again confirm that the country's socio-economic development is being ensured on the basis of a unified approach.

The Head of the Headquarters stressed that the Great Return process is one of the key directions of the national development strategy and envisages the full integration of the liberated territories into the country's economic, social and institutional system. As a result of large-scale reconstruction and restoration works carried out in the territories, the necessary infrastructure has been established. At present, the main priority is to ensure sustainable economic development on the basis of the created infrastructure, as well as strengthen the economic and social foundations of resettlement.

It was noted that the implementation of the First State Program on the Great Return is nearing completion, while intensive work is currently underway on the preparation of the Second State Program on the Great Return.

Samir Nuriyev highlighted the important role of the agricultural potential of the liberated territories in ensuring the economic sustainability of the Great Return process. According to him, efficient use of land and water resources, expansion of agricultural production, creation of production and processing opportunities, as well as ensuring sustainable employment in the agricultural sector are among the main tasks for the coming period. In this regard, it is important to coordinate activities carried out under the Great Return process with the measures envisaged under the State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Production and Processing Sectors in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030.

It was noted that sustainable resettlement in the liberated territories depends on ensuring employment, creating jobs and expanding opportunities for economic activity. In this context, it is particularly important to continue efforts aimed at increasing employment opportunities in various sectors, including agriculture, developing professional skills, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives and enhancing economic activity.

The meeting also addressed issues related to ensuring environmental sustainability and managing water resources. It was noted that efficient use of natural resources, restoration of ecosystems and protection of land resources are important conditions for long-term development. Along with the restoration of water infrastructure facilities in the liberated territories, the efficient and modern management of water resources, balanced satisfaction of water demand in various sectors and strengthening the country's water security remain among the key priorities.

In accordance with the meeting agenda, reports were presented on the efficient use of agricultural land and organization of agricultural production, employment promotion, enhancement of environmental sustainability and management of water resources in the liberated territories.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants were once again reminded of the importance of continuing efforts aimed at accelerating the integration of the liberated territories into the country's overall socio-economic development process, ensuring the sustainability of the Great Return process and improving the welfare of the population in line with the strategic goals set by President Ilham Aliyev.

Afterwards, the participants of the meeting were introduced to the Master Plan of the city of Aghdara. They were informed about the city's development prospects and planned projects.

The participants also reviewed agricultural and industrial projects being implemented in the Aghdara and Khojaly districts.

Within the framework of the visit, information was presented on the work carried out at the intensive fruit orchard established by Frutti Agro LLC in the village of Chayli in Aghdara district and at the Demirli Ore Processing Complex, as well as on the contribution of these projects to the region's socio-economic development.

Later, the participants visited the mulberry orchard located in the village of Dashbulag in Khojaly district and the infrastructure created for the development of sericulture. They also familiarized themselves with the livestock complex of Qoch Et Peasant Farmer Farm LLC operating in the village of Khanabad, as well as intensive fruit orchards established by various private agricultural entities.

During the briefing, it was noted that projects implemented in the agricultural and industrial sectors contribute to the expansion of economic activity in the liberated territories, the creation of new jobs, the development of entrepreneurship and the strengthening of the economic foundations of the Great Return process.
