Bloomberg: EU leader seeks contact with Putin to help end war in Ukraine

European Council President António Costa is seeking to establish a discreet channel of communication with the Kremlin to help bring an end to the war in Ukraine, Bloomberg reports.

According to the report, one of Costa's advisers has already held contacts on two occasions with a senior Russian official close to President Vladimir Putin.

The contacts are reportedly aimed at laying the groundwork for possible future negotiations on Ukraine.

Both Costa's office and the Kremlin declined to comment on Bloomberg's inquiry.
