On June 17, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev received a delegation led by Hadi Bin Ali Al-Alyami, head of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Constitutional Court told APA.
Farhad Abdullayev gave detailed information about the consistent reforms being implemented in the country to protect human rights and freedoms, ensure the rule of law and strengthen democratic institutions. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation with the constitutional courts of many countries within the framework of the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of the Islamic World, which brings together OIC member states.

The chairman then spoke about the activities of the Constitutional Court in the field of human rights protection and the work carried out to develop constitutional justice. He also particularly noted the effective cooperation between the Constitutional Court and the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in ensuring constitutional rights.
Hadi Bin Ali Al-Alyami highly appreciated Azerbaijan’s achievements in the protection of human rights, the construction of a state governed by the rule of law and the improvement of the judicial and legal system. Noting the importance of international cooperation in the promotion and protection of human rights, he stressed the need to expand the exchange of experience and mutual cooperation in this area.
The parties held extensive discussions on the protection of human rights, legal awareness, contemporary challenges of international law and prospects for future cooperation, and expressed confidence that cooperation would be further developed in the future.
