Baku 2015 opening ceremony was main news of Russian media

APA’s Moscow correspondent reports that Rossiya Segodnya and TASS agencies have released online reports on Baku-2015 since the start of the event.

TASS agency released information entitled “Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev declared the First European Games open”. The article also includes quotations from the chairperson of the first European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva’s speech in the ceremony.

Russian spectators live watched the opening ceremony of the first European Games on Russia 2 TV channel. Russia TV channel commentator Dmitry Guberniev said the ceremony was held at high level.

Channel One Russia broadcasted reportage on the opening ceremony.

NTV channel called the opening ceremony “Grandiosely theaterized presentation”.

After performance of the opening ceremony, “vesti.ru” website shared a photo of fireworks from the Olympic Stadium on its Facebook page and wrote status “We congratulate Azerbaijan with the grandiose opening ceremony” under “Azerbaijan” hashtag.

Russian information agencies, newspapers released the attendance of high-ranking officials, heads of state and government, especially Russian President Vladimir Putin the opening ceremony as flash news.

Lady Gaga’s attendance also was the focus of attention of the Russian media.
