The opening ceremony of the STS crane took place at the Zira seaport, APA reports.

At the opening ceremony of the event, the dear memory of our martyrs who lost their lives for the freedom and sovereignty of our homeland was first commemorated with a minute of silence. Then the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

The electrical and automation project of the STS (Ship-to-Shore) shore crane with a maximum load carrying capacity of 90 tons, implemented in the Zira port, is an important step for the development of modern port infrastructure. This project is designed to both increase the efficiency of port operations and ensure safety at the highest level.

Musabey Suleymanov, the founder of the marine industrial complex, made a speech and officially declared the event open.

The event was attended by individuals who played a role in the creation of the STS crane, deputies and public representatives.

Then, a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the STS portal crane was held.

The speakers stated that this crane built by Zira Port will breathe new life into the development of logistics in the Caspian region and will further elevate Azerbaijan's name on the world industrial map.

The STS crane installed at the Zira Seaport was designed and manufactured entirely by Azerbaijani engineers. Only the automation system products were supplied by the world-renowned Schneider Electric company.

This fact shows that the production of high technologies is possible in our country and at the same time there is an open and flexible approach in cooperation with international partners.

The logistics and transport infrastructure of the Zira Seaport is also very strong. Also, a private railway line has been integrated into the port here. The STS crane put into operation at the Zira Seaport was designed and built entirely in accordance with international standards.

It should be noted that the STS crane is 4 times faster than existing cranes. The operating time of the crane is 15 minutes. The most important thing is that this crane was manufactured entirely in Azerbaijan. This fact once again shows that our country is no longer an importer, but an industrial producer with export capacity.
