China can invest in transport and logistics, clean energy, and smart projects in Azerbaijan, said He Zhenwei, President of the China Overseas Development Association (CODA), during his speech at the International Investment Forum, APA reports.
"20 companies from China came to Azerbaijan with me. Most of them are private sector and are exploring investment opportunities in Azerbaijan. I think that holding this forum is very important and will help attract more investment in Azerbaijan. Private companies in China are very active, and Azerbaijan should take advantage of this," He Zhenwei noted.
He also touched upon the areas in Azerbaijan that China attaches great importance to for investment.
"China used to invest more in the oil and gas sector. Now it attaches more importance to the non-oil sector. This is also very important for Azerbaijan, because Azerbaijan is rightly trying to develop its non-oil sector. Our main priorities here are the transport and logistics sector, clean energy (wind, solar) and smart projects (smart cities, buildings, etc.), which have development potential in Azerbaijan," CODA President stated.
Kris Allum, official representative of the UK Export Finance, discussed the implementation of transport and logistics projects in Azerbaijan.
“Alluk financing opportunities in the UK focus on transport and logistics, such as toll roads, railways, and similar projects. We have carried out significant work in this area in Turkey and gained valuable experience. Another priority is decarbonization and clean energy. We can support the implementation of clean energy projects in Azerbaijan,” Allum said.
