Azerbaijan to complete construction of Horadiz-Aghband highway and railway next year

The construction of the Horadiz-Aghband highway and railway is planned to be completed within the next year, said Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev at the trilateral meeting of government representatives of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Iran held in Baku, APA reports.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that this important transport infrastructure will not only form a new branch of the East-West and North-South international transport corridors but will also serve as a new route connecting the Persian Gulf with the Black Sea.

Shahin Mustafayev also touched upon the importance of the Middle Corridor: “Since 2022, the volume of cargo transportation through the Middle Corridor has increased by approximately 90 percent. Transit times along the corridor have also significantly decreased.”
