Manaf Jalilzade summoned to Prosecutor General's Office

Manaf Jalilzade has been summoned to the Prosecutor General's Office, APA reports, citing Ictimai Television.

According to the information, Jalilzade Manaf Mammadali has been sent an official notice of invitation to the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office in accordance with the requirements of Article 467-13.4 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

It was stated that he must appear on November 24 of this year at 14:00 at the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, located at 160 Suleyman Sani Akhundov Street, Binagadi district, Baku city.

A decision was made to bring Manaf Jalilzade as an accused under Article 281.2 of the Criminal Code. He was declared wanted for charges to be brought against him because he escaped from the investigation and hid outside the borders of Azerbaijan. By a decision of the Binagadi District Court dated February 15 of this year, he was placed under preventive detention in absentia.

On September 19, a decision was made to charge Arastun Orujlu as a defendant under Articles 220.2 and 281.2 of the Criminal Code, adding additions and changes to the content of the accusation.

It was noted that on 2023 February 17, he, together with Suleymanli Suleyman and others, launched a live broadcast on the YouTube platform called "Diktator TV" as a group of individuals who had previously colluded with each other, openly calling for the use of force against the current government formed and operating on legal grounds in Azerbaijan, and later produced 19 different videos on that platform in 2023-2025.

The accused was warned that in absentia proceedings may be initiated, an in absentia verdict and other court decisions may be issued.

It was stated that in the event that he does not appear at the summons, in absentia proceedings may be initiated against him, an in absentia verdict or other final court decision may be issued.
