Effective cooperation measures by the Ministry of Justice with the relevant bodies of foreign states on the apprehension and extradition to our country of persons wanted internationally and accused of committing crimes continue, the Ministry of Justice told APA.
It was stated that on December 10, another person who had been declared internationally wanted by the National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Azerbaijan was extradited to Azerbaijan by the Ministry.
Thus, the location of Ukrainian citizen Samik Babayev, accused of committing premeditated murder for greed or by contract (Article 120.2.5 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan), was determined in the Federal Republic of Germany, and he was arrested.
Approval was obtained on the basis of the request from the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the extradition of this person and the submission of the documents required under international procedures by the Ministry of Justice. S. Babayev was brought to our country from Germany by responsible employees of the Ministry’s Main Department of International Cooperation and the Penitentiary Service, and placed in the Baku Pretrial Detention Facility of the Penitentiary Service.
