Senior adviser of Garadagh region Center for Labor and Social Protection of Population caught in the act of taking bribe in Azerbaijan

Baku resident Garifulina Ruhiyye Tofig called 161 hotline of the Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office regarding the illegal actions of Asadov Shahin Giyas, senior adviser of Garadagh region Center for Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population. The appeal was investigated.

It was found out that Shahin Asadov demanded AZN 450 from Ruhiyye Garifulina to allocate social assistance. He took AZN 200 of the money and was caught in the act of taking AZN 200 of the rest AZN 250 in his room in the administrative building of Garadagh region Center for Labor and Social Protection of Population on March 16, 2012.

More than 100 plastic payment cards for getting targeted social assistance, PIN codes of more than 300 plastic payment cards and other documents were found in Shahin Asadovâ€™s room.

Criminal case has been launched on the fact on article 311.1 (bribery) of the Criminal Code. Asadov has been put under restraint.

Investigation is underway.
