An electronic field control system that allows taxpayers in Azerbaijan to voluntarily eliminate detected violations before fines are imposed is being implemented in pilot mode, Acting Head of the Main Department of Tax Risk Management of the State Tax Service Samir Khaligov said at the conference titled "Digital Financial Ecosystem: A New Stage in Governance" held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the system has already been launched and is being implemented in pilot mode in one of the regions.
"Through this system, electronic notifications are sent to taxpayers regarding detected violations, and they are given a certain period to eliminate them. Thus, taxpayers are given the opportunity to voluntarily eliminate violations before penalties are imposed," S. Khaligov said.
He noted that the State Tax Service prioritizes a preventive approach in tax control, based on identifying and preventing violations in advance rather than taking measures after they occur.
According to S. Khaligov, the main goal is to inform taxpayers about possible risks in a timely manner, encourage voluntary compliance, and increase the efficiency of tax administration.
